Usually rag rugs are made of unused strips sewn together. So if you want to recycle some of your clothes you may have rag rugs weaved. Almost every fabric would serve for the rag rugs making – it may be unused clothes that are out of fashion, various strips of fabric, scraps and so on. But try to avoid mixing kinds of the fabric you are making rag rugs from. Use only one kind of a fabric, if you want to get a durable, comfortable and beautiful rag rug. Rag rugs made of wool, cotton and rayon are quite good. The preparation of strips is considered to be the most important part in this interesting occupation. First of all you should mark cutting lines. Cut the lines you have marked with sharp sewing scissors. After you have cut, sew ends of strips together.
