By right Iran is considered to be fatherland of the most wondeful rugs in the world. Persian rugs offer the highest quality, versatility, coziness and beauty. Rugs are very important export objects in Iran. Last year Persian rugs brought about 17 billion dollars in an annual income. In fact, most carpets available on the rug market are just faded copies of persian rugs . Let’s know about the history of rug weaving. From the beginning of their history rugs were only hand-made. As far as they were weaved for needs of a family, so they weren’t abundant. The rugs of those times were not durable since natural dyes were going out of colour with time. But situation has greatly changed with the development of machinery and invention of synthetic dyes such as aniline. Rugs have begun to come on the market in much larger quantities. Persian rugs followed this tendency. In Iran hand weaving experiences an increasing pressure of machinery. Iranians don’t really often take an interest in mastering of the occupation of Persian rugs craftsman, while the market is getting abundant of “heartless” copies of Persian rugs. Mostly those rugs are made in China, Pakistan and India. | ||||||
