Most rugs are now imported from the eastern countries such as the following: Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Turkey and China. Carpets make an important contribution to economics of some countries. For instance Iranian economics depends on rugs trading very much. An imported rugs from Iran is the whole world with its own history so it is very difficult to tell everything of imported rugs in this short review. Now imported rugs come in a high variety of colours, shapes and quality. Imported rugs can be weaved of natural fabrics and dyes as well as of synthetic ones. Also imported rugs can be both hand-made and factory-made. Don’t underestimate the latter because factory-made rugs are squared more properly. Also keep in mind that synthetic dyes last much longer than natural ones. Except Iranian rugs (or their fakes) you may find a quantity of so-called ethnic imported rugs. Tibetan religious rugs, some Indian and Chinese rugs belong to them. |
